Unlocking Value in a Divorce Sale

As part of a divorce settlement, our client needed to sell the matrimonial home, which represented a significant asset for the couple.

Local agents estimated the value of the property to range between $1.5M and $1.8M, and were eager to list the property immediately.

Our office recognized that the sale of the matrimonial home presented the client with an opportunity to optimize the growth of the property through tax free capital gains over the 15 years that the client owned it.

We researched the market and created a sales strategy to include a strategic renovation which unlocked far more value from the home for our client.

We managed the strategic renovation, then sold the home for $2.15M, which represented a significant additional tax free return to our client after renovation and sales costs.
